Hey guys... i jumped in my car after work tonight and found the r for reverse... haha on the dash is staying lit up.. even after i swictch the car off... my reverse lights seem to be working just fine.. any ideas at all?

noticed a day after i noticed the light my a/t started playing up.. holding gears and not shifting correctly... gettig stuck i first a bit.

I think possibly from the shifter assembly is the prob but i am not sure

How long since it’s been flushed and the filter done?
A proper flush to, not just the 4L in the sump

Unsure of when last done... i know it is prob due for a flush and filter kit... but dont think that is the issue with this atm.. that would not cause the reverse light to stay on through all the gears and even when the ignition is turned off

Sorry I wasn’t referring to the light, rather the gear changes being strange.

The gear choice/selection is electric. Only mechanical linkage is for P.
I’d be checking the electric plugs on the side of the box, wiring etc to see if anything has rubbed through or perhaps has water damage.
Same goes for the shifter unit at the centre console but they’re pretty bullet proof.
Failing that it’s off to the trany experts.
