First is to find a suitable shop that can do the swap.
Then try Toyota for a crate engine.
They sell a complete engine with injectors, Toyota warranty and latest spec pistons.
I tried D4D engines for a quote, got no reply. I don’t care how busy they are, if too slack to reply they lose business in the long run.
Got run around by one guy and ended up towing vehicle to Villawood engine services ( recommended by my local garage). They are pulling it down as we speak, suspected broken crank shaft/ split egr manifold amongst other issues created from previous engine rebuild advised that Turbo needs replacing as well so any advice on good value for money aftermarket Turbo would be appreciated.
i have a Prado 120 Diesel 3.0L 4cyl 92kW 1KZ-TE and wanting to know if i should upgrade the motor or just get it rebuilt as it has done over 420,000km and never missed a beat but the old girl is getting tired now i would like more power so dose the newer prado motor have more power or would i be better off getting this old girl revamped maybe a bigger turbo or some thing please help....

Ever did any major servicing like injectors, fuel pump etc? Any oil consumption?
no oil consumption, she runs like a dream and have never done any major service on her
Whilst we call could do with a bit more power, I wouldn't mess with her either. My 2005 model with the 1kz is on 207 000km and I'm also looking to do some preventative maintenance.
