  • Airbag inflator on steering wheel control horn pad

I have just purchased a 2005 GXL that is pretty much exactly the same as my other 2006 GXL. On the 2006 I managed to purchase a steering wheel from a later Hilux that was the same as the standard post 2007 Prados that came with steering wheel controls and worked out how to get it all working. I am doing the same with the 2005 Prado but after purchasing a Hilux wheel with the stereo controls I find out the the airbag inflator has only one plug instead of the two on the Prado. It looks like the inflator can be removed by undoing the 4 nuts and it shoud be a straight swap for the Prado one, but I know that the inflator can explode if you are not careful, and I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge of changing the inflator.

    don't. is my advice.

if you are not going to listen to that, disconnect the battery for 10 minutes before playing around with the SRS system
