  • what type of jack to use on rear axle ?

i had a flat rear tyre , luckily on a flat driveway ,the manual said to put the prado geniune jack under axle near the wheel , not off the chassis , the flat top of the jack has a small channel in it , there is no flat spot under the axle for the top of jack to sit , it didnt feel safe , i wouldnt like to have to use this gen jack under the axle on an uneven or dirt road , what other options do others use , apart from taking my trolley jack , thanks john

high lift? wack it in the tow bar or of the bull bar assuming you have them, if not the standard one would be fine.
but use it how the manual says, DONT GET UNDER THE VEHICLE
a habit i do is to lay the wheel under the chassis (even in the garage) that way even if the trolly/bottle jack fails/slips it on on the ground.

I routinely jack mine up to remove and adjust the rear Koni shocks using the standard jack. I stick it under the front of the rear suspension arms, where the bush attached to the chassis.

I couldn't buy a plate for the top of the jack so a friend made this one , it slides down over the jack tube and won't slide off the axle
