  • Vehicle Stability Control

Hi guys, I took delivery of my Prado last monday. Its an 07 4l V6 Auto. I think its a 120 series?

I am having a problem with the VSC. It keeps activating. Especially when I am going round a right corner.
The vehicle starts beeping and the SKID warning light comes on. It then starts shuddering and tries to stop.
Once stopped and I pull off, it does it again.
If I am going a bit faster on a straight, it will cut power and slowly come to a stop.

I hit the diff lock button which turns the VSC OFF, but then the diff is engaged.

Anyone know of a setting or something I need to switch ON/OFF?
I hope its not my driving style. I cant even get to 10km/h before it goes off.

I have checked the manual, but cant find anything helpful.
I am taking it back to Toyoda to have it checked, just wondering if anyone else has any clue whats going on.

    Re: Vehicle Stability Control

Something is wrong here. We have a 08 VX and have only had the VSC come on once on a fast dirt track when cornering too fast.
Check your tyre pressures if one is down a bit it may trigger the VSC. Is it wet? are you pushing around corners?
    Hope you get it sorted.

    Rusty.

Hi Rusty, thanks for the reply.

No, its dry, not pushing it. It even kicks in when I pull off. Doesnt even get to 20 km/h.
Its still under warranty, so Toyota will be looking at it ASAP.
      cheers

        Re: Vehicle Stability Control

Definiently an issue with the VSC.

Mine occasionally comes on if I go up a driveway too fast (turning) or bump a roundabout when zippin thru. But its usually just a blip and doesnt stop me. (Mine is lifted).

Yours needs to be seen to by Toyota.

          Some feed back.

the steering coil? was broken. so the drum around the steering column was not coming back to centre after going round a corner. telling the computer the car was turning still. Also affeccted the indicators, which did not return after turning. toyota replaced it. R2500. about aus$35 lol.

Sometimes i think our cars are just too smart. A simple thing can stop you. Bring back the simple life. (Not going to happen).
