Hi all
I recently purchased a Prado (2005 GXL 120) second-hand and the bull-bar was sagging slightly. Called local dealer today about the recall after finding this post and they said I'm very lucky I called, because the recall ends on the 3rd of September! So I just got in in time to get the parts and fitting done as part of the recall, booked in Wed next week. So if you haven't had it done yet, you have all of about 2 days to call them and get it booked
Brett.

I have it done 3 times and I don't even have a sovereign bar! I have the sticker on the door jam and they again told me last week that I needed to have the recall attended to. I told them they had already done it - twice. They never listen. Then later I found out they had the wrong VIN and serviced my car as a petrol V6 when it's a diesel.Dave

just so I am clear, if Toyota don't have your VIN listed as needing a recall, then its all good? haven't read through all 34 pages of this thread, but I thought all Prados with sovereign bars were required to be checked? mine is 2008. cheers, Mick
ps - the word from toyo stealerships is that its either been done or doesn't need to be done if the website doesn't list my VIN - but no one can advise if it was ever done.

Check the mounts yourself. If it looks like a box, that's the old mount.
If it looks like the pic here http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...l=1#post263338 then the recall has been done.

Had the mounts done yesterday. Looks very nice being shiny black under there now. It is still sagging on one side though - about 15-20mm gap under the driver side headlight and only 5-10mm under passenger side headlight. Same before and after the fitting. Asked the guy at the dealer and he said the only measurement they care about is between the wheel arch trim and the bullbar, where it's likely to rub - not between the headlight and the bullbar. I'm not too fussed by the sag but just another mystery to figure out...

I just rang the original dealership which sold my vehicle asking if they could tell me anything about it and they told me that there's still an outstanding recall for the bullbar. She's booked in for Monday
Glad I rang and asked the question!

Had my brackets replaced, good job and all aligned well, lights work but the plastic trim down the front was fitted so you could poke your fingers between the plastic and bar. The service manager, I knew (use to work with him at another dealer), said its all good to go. The car was about 10 meters away, I said look at the plastic trim down the front and he could see it wasn't right. He came out to the car, I told him it was not acceptable but I would fix it myself as it wasn't worth my time waiting for them to fix it. Two seconds around the corner with the Tojo screw driver and all good.

Digging up an old thread here but I recently purchased a 03 Prado with a Sovereign bar fitted. I've called Toyota to ask if this recall had been done on it but they can't give me any information because their files don't go back that far. Is there any way of telling if it has been done or not? There's a silver sticker on the inside drivers door but they can't tell me what the numbers mean (Date- 14/08/2006
06751 Code No 6628C3) Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.
