I'm yet to get mine done. If they do the cut/tape thingy, they'll be paying an auto electrician to make a new wiring loom to the lights in the bar.
There's no way I'll be accepting my car back in worse condition than it was when it went in![i]I remember when sex was safe, and flying was dangerous![/i]Comment

Hi Steve,Hi there Bazza, may I ask where you got it done at ?? I live in the penrith Area so Im presuming you had it done at Kingswood Toyota ?? I still havnt had a letter for the recall yet but will certainly be letting them no about the complaints I have heard about quality of workmanship at other dealerships and I sujest they do it write the first time or sh!t will hit the fan. Good on ya Davros lol. I still havnt got a letter yet but I realy dont want to put it in to get done but obviously I have to. I havnt even rung them yet to book it in thought I would wait untill they have done a few and let some one elses 120 be the guinny pigs. Not sure wether I wil bother before easter or not ?? Dont want any issues while we are away, would be spewing if I did due to some thing they have not done properly. Might give them a ring tomorrow and suss it out, the bar is perfect the way it is sitting at the moment. Regards Steve

Got mine done a few weeks back.
Received a letter in the mail & immediately came here to check out what was the go. I've attached that much wiring & spots to the bar that I was worried it would all have to come off and I'd be the one putting it all back together again. Organised for it to be done at my last service, and grilled them about exactly what was to be done. Interestingly, the service guy came out briefly to look at my sovereign and pointed to my Pradopoint stickers. "What's Pradopoint?" I smile and just casually mention it is a very popular and informed community of Prado owners Australia wide... and more. I'm sure he already knew that by the way he grinned back at me... anyhow....
I just want to throw in that I had absolutely no problems with the work done to mine. I absolutely can't tell any iota of difference, unless of course I look at the mountings. It was also apparent that my bar was not 'removed' as such, as all my original wiring and cable ties were left completely alone, not to mention my HIDed Lightforce spots. I mean, I just casually threw in how much the spots were worth which I'm also sure the guy must have fully known, having been dealing with a heap of bars since the recall was issued. I had no alignment issues and the work seems tidy and properly done - like no thrashed bolts or nuts etc etc etc.....

Can you pm me your dealer, I got my vehicle from Melville Toyota 2nd hand but at the time it was under the 3year warranty, since lapsed, do I still qualify ? I told them about my winch plated at the same time and they said no worries. Come the day of the service they had not ordered in the winch plate so to cut a long story short I was a little grumpy. They agreed to give me a free courtesy car when the winch plate arrived and they could do the swap.
The funny part was I got the letter from Toyota around a week after the upgrade. So no you do not need to be under warranty and you do not need the letter.

Hi All,
Some good news, I had my Sov Bar mounts replaced via the recall notice at my local Pacific Toyota dealer recently, all good, alignment good no damage and boy hasn't those robust new mounts settled down the sov bar vibration.
