General 4x4 usage on 2006 Prado GXL

Hello all,
I recently bought an auto 2006 GXL and pretty excited to get back into some camping and 4WD'ing.
My previous 4x4's were both manual early model Hilux and Toyota Surf. Driving an auto 4WD is new to me but I'm sure its not so different.
This is a very general question but I am just looking for some advice on using 4WD in my Prado.
I can see i dont need to press any button to engage 4wd so i assume is just move out of HH in HL or low range as required? Also what is the function of the 2nd start button?

thats correct, H to HL can be be done while moving, to change into LL vehicle needs to be stopped, foot on the brake, put tranmission into neutral then to change into LL

2nd start is to start in 2nd gear... for more info check the manual or use the forum search.

i figured it wouldnt be too different to the old ones i used to drive.
Ill search the forum for details on 2nd gear starts.
