120's through the ages

Hi guys,
My first post here, it's a great forum, learning a lot! Thanks for keeping it going... Anyway, my wife and I will be looking for a 120 series prado for ourselves in the coming weeks and I was wondering if there are many differences from the early 120's to the last? Engine upgrades, interior adjustments and the like. We'll be most likely going for the petrol models as the diesels were to sluggy for my liking.
We can't wait to get our new car. We sold our last 4wd about 3 years ago and regretted it ever since. Time to get back out there.
