Is the vehicle still under warantee?
If so, get it back to Toyota and let them work it out. It sounds serious. Maybe Japan will want to get involved in this one. :wink:

Sounds a bit like me. Got tired arms and shoulder pain. I have moved my chair closer to the wheel and adjusted the wheel (telescopic) out as far as it will go. Try driving with your arms not straight, ie you should be able to put your wrist on the wheel without moving in your chair. After trying this my pain reduced but the rest of it is old age (according to my wife) and as she says she will never be as old as me. Some race drivers sit close to the wheel so they reduce the strain on the arms. Its a bit like holding a bucket of water at arms length. mush harder to do when your arms are straight out, easier when close to you. Also the armrest in the Praod is a different height than other cars.

Thanks Rusty for your comment. I have done just that... I have the seat forward as far as comfortable and it seems to be helping. I've also moved the centre console lid forward so it's in a better position for when I take my arm off the wheel. The pain has certainly decreased which I am very pleased about :-)

I had a similar problem and it was mainly that the tracking was slightly out and I had not realised that. The steering wheel was generally straight, but if you let go of it on a straight flat road it would wander to the side, more than just the effect of the road camber. The corrective load on your arm was barely noticeable at low speeds, but driving long distance or motorways made my arm ache too.

I also had to mess with the height of the seat to get comfortable and move the center console lid too. I now find that I cannot get height of the seat right to suit my right arm on the door or my left arm on the console, Grrrr!

Good luck, but I would look for something affecting the steering like the tracking or a dragging brake.

I have a weird problem I am having with my Prado.

I bought it November last year and in the first week of December I took the family away to Surfers from Newcastle. A couple hours into the trip I started to experience pain in my left elbow. The pain continued for the whole holiday and I still have it now.

Just thinking... maybe you need to do a bit of physiotherapy on this joint. Just a simple exercise really. Just need to work the joint for a few reps with a small weight, say about 375g. If you don't have any weight gear, you could do this with something of similar weight - perhaps a beer? Basically, take hold of the beer can, and slowly raise all the way until the beer reaches your lips. You'll know if you're doing the exercise correctly if you can take a sip from the beer at the end of the exercise. After taking a sip, slowly lower the beer back to the table. Relax - that was a big effort and you deserve a brief rest. Once you're rested and ready to go again - repeat the exercise. If you do this each night, the pain should go away. :wink:

Well i tried that last night (hic) and woundn't ya know it (hic) tha pain gone away. At least for now. MAy need to try it (hic) again tonight.
