  • Rear wheel carrier spacer

Hi does anyone know where i can get some spacers for the rear wheel carrier bracket?
I am looking at putting a new set of Mickey Thompson 4 ribs on 265 70R 17 and have been told the spare wheel wont fit on the back. Is this true or do I need some spacers. Some insight would be grateful. Cheers

I went 265/70/R17 St Coopers and needed a spacer so expect you will too. I bought a Kaymar spacer which you can asily add a rear light and HF radio aerial too.

ARB sell them, just look up on the Kaymar website. A cheaper alternative is the spacer AMTS makes. He is a member so search the threads.

Here is the existing thread http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...carrier-spacer.
To summarise, there are a few options available:
        1. DIY chopping board, extra washers
        2. Kaymar wheel on door bracket
        3. TJM's dog bone spacer
        4. AMTS spacers which I organise to manufacture (see blackvx's link)

Adam79, I recently put a set of Andrew's (amts) spacers on. They are an excellent product, well priced and very easy to fit. Highly recommended.

thats souns cool - you going to share, the discounts i mean. dont need the spacers i got some of the "amts" one. they work a treat and are professional quality.

suggest you go the larger thickness if you get his so you have more options later

ps - can you put up your location on your avatar so it makes things easier for those wanting to suggest a reply that may suit you, cheers

Another option is a set of longer bolts and some washers. That will work just as well.

I'd prefer a bigger bearing surface. The tyre is pretty heavy and the small bearing surface of washers may lead to surface damage to the rear door.

                    Another vote for AMTS spacers.
Well made, top quality, nice anodised finish, cheap and look like they are supposed to be there :-)

Thanks for info. I have decided to go with the Kayma rear wheel bracket. Gives me a few more options with accessories like work lights ect.
                      Cheers
