Also, would appreciate some info on where you got it. 2) The computer fans - I didn't know they were 12V. Learn something new every day. Have you got these on a single circuit, or do they run in the same circuit as the compressor? Reason i ask is it might pay to have them run for half hour after the compressor is off, as the unit can get damn hot after pumping four tyres. 3) last question - is the red button the switch for the compressor?

    Top work mate -
    Ian.
    1) i drilled a hole from the front just big enough for the male thread of the female fitting. then drilled a bigger hole from the back just big enough an deep enough to screw the female thread of the hose link in the back. screw it all in through the pannel an hose clamp the pipe an wala.

    2) iv got them on the same circuit as the commpressor. thanx for the idea, i will research that.

    3) an yes the red button is the compressor 'GO' button.

thanx for the feed back guys got some more pics comin.

Well that strip lighting is just plain old clever. Much better that holding a torch in your mouth trying to search for the warm beers to put in the fridge

Stu - I am going to steal all your ideas. The only thing I may do different is not have covers over the side wings, and stuff towels etc down there when we're traveling.

The LED strip lights are a TOP idea mate Love your work...

Love the idea for mounting the compressor and inverter mate. I put my inverter on the outside of the drawers at the front which is fine for me but I'm now trying to find somewhere to fit the compressor (no room in engine bay). I will have to look and see if I can retrofit something like yours.

Hey there $tu... Please add these pics and story to the following thread so your ideas don't get lost in cyber space...

                http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...drawers+%24100

I would strongly suggest mounting your drawers in permanently. Wouldn't be nice to have these things flying around in an accident if the worst were to happen...

You have some brilliant ideas there... Looks like you have used the same LED strip lighting that I have for the rear door... They shed a heap of light for something so compact...

                Nice work!

Stu, they are a deluxe set of drawers champ, the light switch and led placement is brilliant hats off to you for that one. Have you actually used the compressor in that location since you installed it? how does tyre filling go, any issues?

                  cheers,

                    Stu,
I think your strip lights is the best idea I've seen in a long while. Excellent. You'll probably start seeing something similar in the factory brand draws soon.

                      Two more questions.

What thickness ply did you use and where did you buy the drawer sliders (and what length)

yeah iv used the compressor since i put it in. iv done all 4 tyres with it constantly running an it only just gets warm. the fans seem to do the trick. an being in the box it muffles the sound an makes it quite quiet.

i used 18 mm ply for the uprights, 10 mm for the bottom an 12 mm for the top. an i got the drawer slides from bunnings an from memory they are 500 or 550mm an the extention is something like 700 or 800.
