  • D.I.Y Nokia CK-7W Bluetooth Handsfree install

Matt, that is one really slick install. Having one of the older 120's ... with no bluetooth ... this is one perfect mod to keep me out of the clutches of the boys in blue.

... and it was great having a chat with Sophie, about yoghurt and dolls and stuff, while dad was bumping his head under the dash and cursing and stuff

Cheers .... and keep up the good work

PM Speedcomm, he puts them in for a living. He should be able to tell you how to get the stereo mute to work.
    2000 GXL. 3.4lt V6, ARB Sahara Bar, IPF's, foglights, 2 inch lift (OME), Cooper ST's 265/75/16
GME 3600 UHF, Nokia CK-7W car Kit

Soon to have HD Towbar and Snorkel. Maybe even lockers!

Great job on the install and the pictures. For others planning on doing this install I thought I would add a bit of info on the CK-7W that I have found out about the compatability with the Nokia 6120 and Force cradle.

The latest kits support charging from the control unit via an included CA-116 cable with a 2mm jack. Slightly older versions also support charging but did not include the charging cable with the 2mm jack. The oldest version does not support charging using a CA-116 cable. The different version can be identified by the information on the back of the control unit.

Units ending in 019 are the latest version. Units ending in 018 but without a 2nd serial number on the right of the label still support charging but you need to buy the cable. Units ending 018 with a 2nd serial number don't support charging. It would be wise to check when purchasing the kit as it is easy to get caught out, especially on ebay. I did but fortunately all I needed was the extra cable.

          Hope this helps.

              Very cool Matt!

Went hunting for a ignition sensing wire and a good earth under here..
Can you say more about this please? You mentioned the power is hooked up directly to the battery. What did your final circuit look like and how did you find an 'ignition sensing wire'?

              Curious.

Get it all off the back of the stereo LFaR, then mount the box there also.
                Makes it easy !
