  • Winch controller and Compressor fit under bonnet

    Hi all,
Here is a couple of photos showing my winch controller and ARB compressor fitting neatly under the bonnet in my Rig. Thanks to Crammy for his great work and ingenuity. He suggested i get a battery tray kit from ARB that they have made to fit the second battery in. We installed it under the bonnet in the passenger side rear of the engine bay. It is made beautifully by ARB to fit exactly in the right spot. It picks up all the original bolt holes and re-positions the fuel filter. We managed to fit the winch controller and the compressor in the tray and as you can see it looks (thanks to Crammys wiring expertise) factory fitted. We have put the hand controller socket into the centre console and the compressor switch on the right hand front dash panel. The air compressor outlet has been extended to the rear of the rig so i don't have to open the bonnet to use the compressor. Plug and pump..........I have also repositioned the front and rear diff breather's and attached them tho the side of the tray. All in all a great looking fit out.

It was a combined effort!! It came up a treat with your (Gimp) metallurgy skills mate! Especially the tray install and various brackets and bits!

This is a top mod for anyone who is installing winch controller and compressor in the back passenger corner... I just wish we'd thought of it on a few of the previous setups we've done!

      Cheers,

I know there is some slight differences in the Petrol/Diesel, but does anyone know if the Battery tray (ARB) like this fits the Petrol? (Or can be made to?)

Re: Winch controller and Compressor fit under bonnet

i know that when i bought the battery tray they had a listing in the book for the D4d and a different listing for the Petrol. I am not sure though if the tray is much different other than the provision made for the fuel filter placement on the diesel. I am sorry i can't be more helpful than that. I am going into ARB on Tuesday to get some new OME springs fitted so i will ask them then.
