Rear Door Mounting Clearance Issues?

Hi Folks

I am considering fitting Cooper STT's, now I've read a few reports ranging from folks cutting up their nylon bread board through to turning up spacers - to space the spare wheel out away from the door.

My question is does the carrier have to be spaced out with this tyre and if so what is the minimum it needs spacing out?
