When we bought the Prado, it had a ARB deluxe NON-winch bar fitted to it. It was a bit annoying as the bloke selling it mentioned it was a winch bar but I was a little naive about these things at the time (it wouldn't have stopped us buying it anyway as it's a good truck).
My question is, does anyone know if it would be possible to modify a NON-winch bar to take a winch (I rang ARB and they said that they couldn't do it) but I thought maybe it would be possible to get someone to make the modifications? Apart from the hole in the front, is there any difference to the actual bar? Or would I be best selling it and buying a whole new bar?
We want an electric winch as we will be travelling alone in some remote-ish areas and don't want to be limited by what we can do just because we might get stuck. We considered a hand winch (I know they have some advantages over an electric winch) but I know from past experience that they are bloody hard work ... and I'm lazy
