Prestige sunroof installation rattles

Hi,
I have just jumped in and installed a hollandia 700 electric sunroof by Prestige sunroofs in melbourne. Unfortunately i now have some rattles in the roof coming from behind the drivers area and the rear central area. Given that there are only 2 reputable sunroof installers in melbourne and the vast number of sunroofs being installed i was wondering if anyone else has has similar issues. I am currently waiting for a response from prestige sunroofs but i am dissapointed with the situation.

The actual sunroof itself is great but i cant stand the rattling, they replaced all the headlining so i hope its easilly removable and they can sort it out.
Will keep posted on outcome.

Update on the issue,
After 3 hours at the installers shop 95 % of the rattling has been fixed. If it reappears it will need to go back, i will be keeping my fingers crossed it doesnt.

If you are interested there are some issues that most dont know that may effect whether a sunroof is for you,

you have to take it in once a year for a service ( free and mandatory in the first 3 years of warranty). They make sure the drain pipes ( 4 off) are not blocked and they check the operation and may grease the tracks.


They are designed to let small amounts of water past the seals and they drain through 4 pipes down the car pillar to the body underside.

You loose about 1 inch of headroom over the driver and about 2 inches at the interior light location.

Fittment of roof racks is posing a issue at the moment but i will resolve this somehow.

Cost for a fully electric sunroof and new headlining $2200.00

You should not have any rattles and so far i am loving the sunroof now that its not noisy.

After a nasty experience years ago - whilst driving my Cortina fitted with a sunroof I came up behind a cattle truck. The cattle decided to do their business and it all got sucked into the interior of my car via the sunroof. Luckily, most of it had air dried before coming in, but it still stank and took a bit to clean.

No sun roofs for me! But I do have a car without a roof.

I also have a Prado with a sunroof from Prestiege Sunroofs. There was a rattle that they fixed no problems at all the first time. Rattle returned about 6 months later and they could not find anything loose with the sunroof. After much invetigation with people hangin their heads either out the sunroof or can windows we discovered that the clips and rubber where the roof rails go were loose. Fixed the problem and have had no problem since.

Just bought another Prado an about to get another sunroof put in.
