  • 120 dual battery locked and lifted

    Guys,
Lift kit from your friends at Geelong was a long time in coming and the powder coating was all chipped off the springs when I got them - definitely looked second hand but since they took so long to get here I needed them and they are definitely second hand now. the lift is great the ride awesome I have lost nothing onroad and offroad is just amazing. The only thing is that the bilstein mounts / bushes squeek and I have fixed this on the front right by tightning the mounts but the left is squeeking now and I will have to look at it as well.

lockers and dual bat came from ARB. Dual bat installation is a bit rough and the extension hose on the power steering resivoir leaks. The locker installation has been crap. the axel seal on the front diff was damaged and this has since been replace FOC but the replacement one now leaks and the car has to go back for a full day to try and work out what is going wrong. The lockers themselves are great and I have used them a little but can't wait to get some serious load on them. I am enjoying being able to tackel things at a much more sedate pace and still get through.

Apart from those minor mishaps and the guys at ARB are looking after me very well it's just the inconvenience but I suppose that can happen if you modify a car.

Thats the feedback from my mods

    Hey Eddie

I'd love to see a pic of your dual battery install - especially where you mounted the Power Steering reservoir. That's my project for the long weekend.

    Enjoy your mods.

    Cheers

This is not normal and I don't believe tightening is the solution...
Check with Daz on how to fix the squeak cause if you over tighten them
you can brake the chock mounts (known to happen to a few cause
      other workshop overtightened the mounts....)

        Wengnuts,
I'd love to mate but I had better not since I dont know how much oil is left in my front diff. Since they replaced the second axle seal I have had significant quantities of oil leaking out of the diff and although the leak has slowed I don't think this is because the leak is fixed. I am concerned that it could be because the oil is low. The car is booked in for Monday for a second round of repairs and hopefully some diagnosis of the offending problem.

thanks for the invite and once I'm up and running again I might PM you for weekend bash through the forests
        Cheers

              Guys,
I am happy to say that after 3 visits back to ARB the front locker is now functional and working well. It is also worth noting that I had no problems with the rear locker. The front was a combination of installation issues and parts issues but nothing serious and all happily fixed by the ARB crew at Nudgee.

The only additional thing I have done to the locker setup is to run an extension hose from the compressor to the rear of the vehicle so that I can reach all the car tyres as well as the boat trailer tyres with a short hose and without having to open the bonnet which is time consuming when you have the beach rods fitted to the bullbar.

This post is just in case any readers didn't pick this up in another thread.
              Cheers

                  Hi Apor

                  Have a look Here

The first series of pics shows Drew's battery install and where he put his PS reservoir. The second set, further down the page, shows how I set mine up.

                  Cheers
