They are great, i turn them on now just so that i can see them move without the noise... the novelty hasn't worn off!

      • Just did my washer jet upgrade on my new Prado (only 400 k's and taking bites off already!)

Works great :!: Nice spread of the water and appears to send more water through jets but may just be a perception.

Didn't break any clips but dropped one I cannot find....probably melt on the turbo

The trick with the ties to pull out the old jets (compress the retainer clips) works a treat and highly recommended

so i went down to supercheap last weekend and found some Bosch wiper arms (complete replacement)

one of those new type flimsy things but i swear it sliced bread has nothin on these babies

and sit flat when they're down.

Me too. The only difference I noted is that the swept area isn't as big as the factory wipers. But who cares - the difference in swept area is only slight, they are silent and they look grouse

yeah it only takes one wash to clean the whole window and you've removed any reference to where they used to wipe, then you're non the wiser!

                • Looks that way, doesn't it?

As a matter of interest - 2 washer jets from the local dealership set me back the grand total of 140ZAR, which works out at 20.60AUD.

Methinks you guys are getting screwed!

                      I just ordered mine.

$23.50 each plus gst which I don't pay on vehicle and or parts.

Still expensive for what they are.

The Part Number on this thread is still the same, Part number 85381-0K010

I got mine installed as part of the 60k service today.

The difference in water spread across the windscreen is huge.

The original washer jets that just sprayed two solid streams from each washer jet are no comparison for these beauties.

You've just got to wonder who made the decision to put the crap washer jets on the production line when they have such a great washer jet as an alternative.

                        I don't think it's cost, I think it's incompetence.

I'm so glad I changed. Can't wait to try them in anger racing through a nice big muddy puddle.

I think you will find that the Hilux and the Prado are made in different countries. The Prado comes from Japan which is why the quality is better. The Hilux amd their washer jets dont. From memory I think they are made in Phillipines or somewhere, although I am happy to be corrected.

Did the McBain wiper mod today to complement the washer change done last year. Fantastic. Bosch BBA550 and BBA530 for those who are interested. Another first class mod.

i was charged $47- for parts and it didn't look like they charged me for installation going by the service account

I also got a free pair of pointy nose pliers. I was wondering why the bonnet was sitting up about 2 cm and out of alignment on one side.

Opened it up and there was the pliers. It's like a doctor leaving something inside a patient.

I'll be returning the pliers and making a fuss. They could've been a decent pair and not cheap one's.

These aren't worth adding to my tool kit.

I'll do the McBain wiper blade upgrade next time the wiper rubbers need changing but I'll do that myself.
