What's the damage on the polyairs? can I fit them in the ridepro springs or do I need to use the polyair springs?

Vinnie, I think they are $295 + labour. Some members on here have got it for cheaper from Repco. Also refer link below:

I had some scrap copper sitting around that is going to foot the bill.
Interesting.... as I had to go to the scrap yard to cash in the scrap when I drive in, there was a weigh bridge. I asked the guy if he minded weighing the prado...... 2400Kg :shock: it weighed up at 2450kg but I had 50kg of scrap in the back and my tanks only had about 50Lts in them. It's not leaving much to hit the GVM of 2850kg.

Just got OME suspension fitted to beat the NSW deadline [which has now been delayed ] Sportsrider shocks and med. springs-884 front and 895 rear.The RTA records http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/myrta/downloa ... set170.pdf show that the "trim height" as measured throughout this thread should be:558mm rear and 522 front. Any lift under the new regs [deferred] should be less than 50mm on these figures.The lift has seen my v6 come up by 50mm at the rear and about 55 at the front[sovereign bar and IPF driving lights] but the good news is that this lift means that before any sagging my car is legal under the old regs and will be under the new as it just slides in under the 50mm lift on standard trim height with near empty tanks! The front came up more than the back. What an improvement in handling with only a small tradeoff in ride! Past experience tells me both height and ride will setlle down with a few kms on it. So far only 10-15km done -will have to go and give it a workout. Neil

Just checked the first page of my thread.

We were pretty close with our measurements to the RTA's measurements.
RTA front 522 to our measurement
And 558 rear to our measurement.

These regs are out of date (2007 model) they list A/C as an option and the tare weight as 1956Kgs max yet Toyota lists the tare for the GXL D4D Auto as 1980Kgs, what chance is there when they can not even list up to date information :!:

suspension measurements

Greetings to all, November 2006 D4D Prado, Tojo alloy bar, 4 spotlights, dual battery system, rhino rack and the usual caravan towing goodie.

Here are my vehicle measurements after a pedders lift kit fitted last week. i requested the rear to be beefed up for towing.

front L & R 530 mm

Rear L & R 580 mm

Certainly much higher in the rs end as when i hooked up my tandem axle trailer which has no suspension or springs, the trailer front axle is now off the ground when travelling unloaded and the front wheels spin occassionally when you hit bumps. Should be sweet when i load my tr3a on engine to front of trailer so should equalize the load on both axle sets.

The main reason for the lift kit is we are off in several months time towing a caravan dual axle around Australia so allows me to load up the rear of the Prado a bit more now. Maybe carry a few more cartons of grog to get the rear to sit down a bit.

Going shopping today for a new suspension package with a bit of lift but we would like to maintain the drivability that it already has as it rides pretty sweet!

Already had a price of $1325 fitted for the Blue Max suspension kit which apparently is just King Springs and Cofap shocks? Comes with 3 year warranty.

I'm inclined to go with the OME as this seems to be giving the better ride out of all I have seen?! Also comes down to dollars and cents....

Left = 558mm
Right = 558mm

Rear measures:
Left = 560mm
Right = 560mm

After half a weeks driving.

Alrighty.... FOX is installed and after a bit F'Fing around to adjust the coil overs we have netted:

(measurments from centre of rim)
FRONT
Left = 570mm
Right = 570mm

REAR
Left = 590mm
Right = 590mm

Now it's time for another wheel alignment

Measurments were taken with MUMSRIG fully laiden with all extra's fitted including the roof rack, sliders, bar, winch, lights, batteries, drawers, fridge etc, etc... Only a quater of a tank of juice though.

I have a 150 with TJM T5 steel front bar and Ox 1200 pound winch.
Ironman 3" Lift

Front = 580mm
Rear = 610mm - unladen with full tank

Its doesnt seem that high, but when comparing to others it seems I have a fairly high clearance.
