    hi
I have a problem with the air lift on my 2003 prado
the air susp off light is flashing constantly and there is no control to lift or drop
it will drop right down to the rubber stops overnight and if you leave it running it will lift ok in the morning and its ok
but if you drive straight away it doesnt lift and bangs on the rubber stops
It started doing it but you could rock the switch and it would work then stopped I have removed switch cleaned it up as it had oxidised from to many cups of coffee .
one lamp had gone so replaced it light still flashes
is there a reset for the lift
    thanks phil

    Re: grande air fault

have you verified the switch works using a multimeter on the terminals?

yes that was the first place i tried the contacts needed cleaning.
Its a simple switch that works a matrix type system hard to test the output but the individual parts work ok

If your airbag is leaking, it will need replacing. Hopefully it is just an air line, o-ring or a fitting that is leaking. Either way, you need to find the leak.

Did they show/tell you where the solenoid is?

My airbags had a leak and I've fitted the extended Airbag Man airbags, but the self-levelling still isn't working (everything else is), so I'm wondering if a dirty solenoid could be part of my problem too......

The only solenoid I know of in the system is in the pump assembly under the rear quarter behind the left rear mudflap.
There is the pump, a small air tank and distribution valve body, maybe these valves are actuated by the solenoids in question?!?!?

Who and how we're the airbags inspected . They may look okay from the outside but what you describe sound like they are done. Had mine replaced by my mechanic for $890 genuine . Bags were $375 a piece . Try putting the bags up on high position when you park it for the night , if they stay up overnight , it will be the airbags

I ended up replacing mine with Airbagman extended travel airbags and fitted up myself.
I still have the problem intermittently and the auto leveling doesnt always work.
Doesnt worry me anymore, I can "manage" it.
