Before and after measurements for 2" lift kit with Dobinson coils front and rear (rear coils are HD for 100-300kg constant load) and Lovells shocks and struts. My Prado is a 04 GX 3.0l TD with factory alloy b/bar on the front and strongarm dual spare wheel carrier on the back. I have also removed all the back seats and installed a false floor in their place. Had about 25l of fuel at time of measurements. Have only done about 100km with the kit so suspect it will drop a little once I do a few more kms.

    Before
Average front measurement with factory alloy bar - 755mm
Averge rear mesurement with dual strongarm wheel carrier on the back - 770mm

    After
Average front measurement with factory alloy bar - 815mm
Averge rear mesurement with dual strongarm wheel carrier on the back - 840mm

    Hey all,
just an update, remeasured lift again after a week and a half of driving.
    Front passenger 805mm
    Front drivers 810mm
    Rear passenger 840mm
    Rear driver 840mm
Spoke to Darren from Auto Craft after his comments above about damage to shocks running 818mm 820mm at front. We were both much happier that it had settled a bit. Will moniter over next month or two, should settle a bit more.
Very happy with the height and handling of the package, bit firmer in the ride but dont feel the bumps as much if that makes sense.
With the lift and Cooper STs its improved handling on road and transformed it off road!

alloy seat goes up nto the coil a bit ?

If you run more than 800 mm, you WILL damage the front shocks.

They need more droop than that. [70mm min]
OK Darren, bit concerned now, will give you a call i think!

No, we both run modified Old Man Emu. (not that that matters to the alignment... thats about the height)

Paul and I both use different to factory spec alignment settings... with great results.

    my toe in is 0.5mm

Camber: (left and right) 30" +

    Caster: (left and right) 1' 45" +

Are you guys running the same kit?
I spoke to Darren McRaigh when i got the kit off him to get wheel alignment specs and gave them to the boys at Tyrepower along with Darrens number because they didnt sound real confident with the lifted suspension. They did contact him to get conversions and told me the alignment was still inside spec, but the toe in of 2mm wasnt.I dont know how much adjustment is left in it though.

    FRONT PASSENGER: 818mm
    FRONT DRIVER: 820mm
How did they go with your wheel alignment?

I have 805mm drivers side and 810mm on the passengers and have run out of adjustment on the passengers side.

Paul (Pcm120) has the same issue with the same set up as me, same side too...

We are just within alignment specs, just there's not more adjustment left.

yeah Darren, definately bottom circlip groove,I checked when i recieved them and after i just read your message I went out and checked to make sure they hadnt changed them before installing! measurements do suggest slightly more lift on front. Should front and back get the same amount of lift? Im only running alloy bar and 2 spotties on front,no weight in back. Very happy with amount of extra height but are these measurements unusual?

    Re: Suspension Measurements 2

    Hey gents,
just had the Billstein platinum package installed on my GX V6,not carrying much weight,Sovereign alloy bar,Toyota towbar.
Measurements taken by ARB in workshop before and after match my own within 1 to 2mm.
    BEFORE
    FRONT PASSENGER: 745mm
    FRONT DRIVER: 745mm
    REAR PASSENGER: 790mm
    REAR DRIVER: 795mm
    AFTER 2''LIFT
    FRONT PASSENGER: 818mm
    FRONT DRIVER: 820mm
    REAR PASSENGER: 845mm
    REAR DRIVER: 850mm

Not much fuel onboard at time but still pretty impressive!
Changing from Highway tyres to Cooper STs AFTER above measurements were taken adds another half inch or so again!
Will have another look in a few months after suspension settles.
Just out of interest, took some before/after measurements from underside of sidesteps front and rear, with lift and tyres installed, gained 70mm front and 75mm at rear.
P.S. Forgot to mention the Polyairs at 6.5psi
