We have had the bluemax set up fitted by coastals after watching Mitch run around bluemax. We paid a little extra for the so called heavy duty version.
Can not complain the extra height and ride quality was amazing, should have done it sooner. The only problem now is i have to climb in as i am built like the chipster and have short legs.
If you have any further questions or want to have a butchers im sure mitch or myself would be more than happy to help. Us west aussies are like that though arnt we.
      Cheers

Damn Chippy!!

Always some smart remark! "dropping at the front" could also mean I got the "enhancing" dosage a little wrong....

Steve: The Coastal guys did say something about recommending the "heavy duty" setup for me. Brochure I have says there are the "Heavy Duty" and "Extra Heavy Duty" kits available though. Did you have the Extra Heavy Duty kit installed? Does that make the ride firmer when unloaded?

Can you remember what your installation cost?

According to the invoice we have the heavy duty springs and shocks.
$1425 we were charged for this.
We have found the ride to be very compliant without an increase in noise or vibration. Loaded the ride is brilliant. unloaded it is a little firmer but not too extreme or harsh to make it uncomfortable. The initial difference in height was noticable but something we dont notice now.
Whilst towing it is brilliant and it doesn't seem to sag as much in the rear.
Coastal 4x4 are just up the highway from us and the service we have received is second to none.
          Cheers

Thanks a lot Steve I appreciate the info.

Seems your price is very similar to my quote so that puts my mind to rest. I think sometimes people decide you are a bit of a noob and try and weedle a bit extra out of you. The guys there seemed very down to earth which I liked and weren't putting the hard sell on me. Just discussed the facts with me and showed me a Prado there which had a Blue Max kit fitted some years ago. Judging by the red dust, must have been some sort of top end company vehicle I think.

I live up in Osborne Park, so it's a bit of a trip down there but not too bad in the grand scheme of things. There is another crowd up here called WA Suspensions (I think) which I might look into. However, I can't go past several good reports about Coastal. They said they could do it in 1/2 a day if needed, but otherwise it usually took a bit longer depending on what other jobs they have going at the time. It'll be my next day off work I think so I'm going to have to see what I can do down that way for the day.

Did you keep your old stuff?

They took about four hours to do our springs/shocks, No i didnt keep the old stuff. Im trying to declutter as we are moving and my workshop will be half the size. i know i know. If you do decide to come down there is a shopping center nearby. They may be able to do it on a Saturday morning.

              cheers

Yeah I asked about the Saturday morning thing and they weren't keen on it. I'm not sure what their opening hours are as they're not listed on Coastal's website. Maybe only open until midday on Saturdays? I'm not sure. Anyhow no biggie, my next day off work is now spoken for.

Shopping Centre! Excellent! The chance to spend more money!

                  Hi Iron Paww,

As Steve said, we are also extremely happy with the Blue Max gear...

Our lift went up 70mm over standard... Which was alot more than expected but welcomed all the same....

I am more than happy to recommend the Blue Max and especially recommend Coastal 4X4..

Here is the link to my analysis http://www.pradopoint.com/viewtopic....er=asc&start=0

                  Cheers
