Hi pointers,
I'm hoping some of you may have some thoughts on how I can solve an issue I'm having. In short the issue is the bullbar scrubbing out tyres under full suspension compression. Not sure what section it should be in but I think suspension is a good starting point.
I have dobinsons HD springs and bilsteins shocks. Suspension is about 3 months old. The front of the car has steel bar and winch (rope not cable) and mickey T MTZs, (265/70/17) it's a 2008 D4D with 90k on the clock.
I would have thought my suspension set up can handle this weight. However at the bottom of 'woops' when of road, the whole thing compresses and the lowest part of the bullbar scrubs the side biter area of the tyre.
This issue only started to happen on my last couple of trips off road. On road the car sits reasonable firmly, and doesn't bounce at all.
I have spoken to both the suspension supplier and bull bar supplier, without much help, although the conversations are on going.
The only solution I can see is grinding part of the bull bar off, obviously I don't want to do this.
I wonder if any of you have any ideas of things I can check? I think I have provided all the relevant info, but if I've missed something please let me know.
Heath.
Here are a couple of pics.
And one of the damage
