I'm ashamed to admit it, but i bought mine with 185,000kms on it still on O.E suspension & only got around to replacing it a few weeks ago at 225,000kms (pics to come soon).
My rear shocks were near siezed & could hardly be moved in or out when i got them out of the car & checked them.

Another tell tale is the front shock lower eye bushes. Notoriously bad for sagging on these & mine were exceptionally bad.
The locating bolts were nearly at the top of the bushes they had sagged that badly.

...... What is it they say about mechanics & fixing their own cars??? ...... Oh the shame!!!

    Regards, Jason.

I am surprised Monroe did not recommend changing shocks every 50,000 miles, they are in the business of selling shocks you know
