  • Photos of a 2/3" lift

    Hey guys,

Its been a long time since I have been on here and since last time I have come back to the light and now the owner of a 2008 Prado GXL T/D.

Im after people with photographs of a 2/3" lift showing the CVs and also showing the vehicle.

I am trying to work out which way to go in terms of lift.

I see most places sell and do a 2" lift kit or 40/45mm but I am hoping to get something that little bit more.

If anyone has anything to share please do so Many thanks!!!

    Shaun

Check my build thread and many others to see before and after shots.

if going over the 2" lift its best to have a diff drop kit installed to correct the CV angle. Check out 8608 white 120 in the rig build up section, its a 3 -4" lift.

If you plan on going off road at all, I would a install a diff drop kit to a 2" lift on a 120.
They are cheap and good and available at your friendly PradoPoint retail outlet.
2008 Diesel Prado with extra stuff added. I drive it on the road and other places too.

              Hi all,
My first time posting.... Just sold the 80 series that I had for 14 years and have found a little gem of a 120 series VX 2007 version - thanks Millicent Toyota (they really are a great mob there - second Toyota I have bought there in the last twelve months and their service is above and beyond). I virtually have a blank "canvas" to work with, and limited funds. I have purchased the snorkel, Redarc BCDC1225, battery tray, UHF and a few other things, but have a LONG way to go before I get it to something that I would call "adequate" for touring and towing the van.

I want to lift my "new" 120 about 2" also, and was wondering what the general consensus is for lifting this model, and whether this is too much or too little for general towing/off road stuff and also whether there is anything about all the fancy stuff that the VX has that I need to consider before committing to this project. It is my intention to put air bags in the rear springs to level the vehicle when towing.

There are many kits available and various brands of shocks and springs - there are also many of these items available on Ebay and similar. Appreciate any constructive suggestions on this also...

              Cheers,

A 2" lift on a Prado is about spot on, anything up to that point is pretty straight forward and most off the shelf kits will do a good job. Anything over 2" will need a lot of research to make sure all is well.

Lots of info in the suspension section on all the different types, make sure you change your setting to show threads from the "begining" so you cna browse all the good info.

                Cheers Andrew
