  • Advice for shocks

    Hey Guys,

Towing a 2 tonne van around oz next year and wanted to get some feedback on replacing shocks and/or Heavy duty rear springs.

My Prado is a 04 model and at glance they look like originals all round still in her.

    Cheers

    Zutta

For me Id be fitting OME springs/struts shocks, medium all round, wacking in some rear air bags to help out and also piss the factory tow bar off and fit a genuine Hayman Reese bar. I find with the heavy duty springs there fine while towing but ride like a gokart when empty. If the van is loaded correctly the down force on the ball should be minimal.......this is the set up Ive had on two 90 series but didnt need airbags as my load wasnt as heavy as yours is going to be.............Go to about 3mins 36 secs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2rfd_fEyxc There stuff is more extreme but it isnt the first one to do it on a 120, the 90's and 150 are great from the factory 120's are shit.............Cheers Stev
