  • Zutta's 2" TD/Lovell lift

Phew... 4 months i've had these parts sitting here looking at me and the job is finally done

As the title says i have a mix 'n' match set up, which was purely based on a very small budget to get suspension improved for my OZ trip this year.

MJRANDOM kindly donated his used TD springs and i added the Lovell shocks all round and Poly airs & strut top mounts to the package, 10mm front spacers were supplied by AJ120.

    Measurements:

    ............... OLD -------- NEW

    FRONT: --- 730MM ----820MM

    BACK : --- 770MM ----840MM

Big thanks to everyone that help me out on this one extremely happy with the setup now

I did a before and after shot which shows the massive difference.

    cheers

    zutta

Wow, I hope the front settles abit. At 820mm there will be no caster adjustment left at all. Drop in some nice heavy accessories to lower the front

checked today again as i took measurement at night. front was at 810mm, I dont really have anything heavy i want to put up there like a winch etc.

Is 800mm - 810mm going to be a problem ? handling feels 100% better than my old stock setup, a little firm but i needed that once the 2t van is on there fulltime.

I doubt u need the 10mm spacer. That would bring it down around 20mm.

Matt and Hutch are right, dump the spacer. Around 800 is the maximum you want to be able to easily align the wheels properly and actually 790 is fine.

ok thanks for that info fella's. I will re-check measurements in a few weeks, not really keen on paying out more dollars to have less lift

Was just checking the database and there others that are 810 and above ? Are these guys having problems easily aligning wheels ?

So MJ those springs haven't sagged like you said or is the shocks I'm using that's giving the extra height ?

Hmmm, shocks don't provide lift. How much weight is in the front?

When I measured mine the last time I had the ironman bar which weighs about 40kg, the compressor in the winch space so another 16kg and a 120Ah AGM battery in the spare slot so another 35kg ish. Maybe I measured incorrectly? Who knows. Last measurement I had was 785mm but this may have been influenced by how the car was sitting. The extra few kg in the front certainly wouldn't make 15mm difference. WhenI fitted the ARB suspension the front initially was at 810 before getting flexed and I felt that was too high. It settled back to 800 and was fine. Still think you should drop the spacers out.

I think 800 is ok but the maximum really - (legally too) -insurance or not?
I'd rather be at 790 than 810. But give it some time.
                        P.s I hate spacers.

Righto, The TD hand me down springs were the H ( heavy) spring which might explain the crappy ride i have been experiencing Bit the bullet and ordered the softer TD spring for front and ditched the spacers. got them in today and what a difference, no jarring over every bump.

Front height now @ 800mm and hopefully settles @ 790 ish.
