be interested to hear waht you think of them. I had heard they were "hard" if thats the word, make the ride a bit rough. then when out at opp lock the guy who runs the show had them on his patrol and said they were very soft....

I cant coment on the Ironman for the Prado, but have fitted Ironman to our 2 work utes, Nissan Navara D40 dual cab & a new Triton diesel dual cab, its made a huge difference to the ride quality & handling, the guys who drive them recon its like driving different vehicles, the back doesnt jump around on corrugations now & the ride is much more car like, fitted up complete with wheel alighnment for the 2 vehicles was only $1865
2007 D4D auto, Tunit Power Module, Scan GaugeII, Bilsteins & lovels HD, raised 50mm front & 60mm rear, 10,000lb Tmax winch, 7/16th Amsteelblue synthetic 23,000lb winch cable, TiTan HD winch solenoid pack, Outback draws with fridge slide & 50 litre Waeco, Ryno roof rack & Alloy Cage & extra set of Rhino HD Roof bars x 3, TJM type 15 steel Bullbar powder coated silver, Dual battery setup with custom tray, Bosch Navigator spots with 55w HID kit, Sand Grabber mats, Toyota Tow Bar, Sensor Touch Electric Brakes, Cooper ST 265/70/17 tyres, Uniden remote head UHF radio, Modified Milford Cargo Barrier, Extra power points in the back run with 10mm wire for fridge & inverter, Anderson plugs with 10mm wire front & back for the camper & compresor conections. 7 inch in dash JVC DVD player with bluetooth & Ipod adaptor, 39DB Stebel High Power TM80/2 Magnum Electric Horns. Mcbain, i have the heavy kit as i hope to get a winch in the future. It is a little bit firmer than standard ride but it makes for a whole lot better handling and wheel travel, soaks up corrigations and doesnt roll like standard suspensionand at $1100 fitted with wheel alignment i think its good bang for bucks.

no better than any of the other cheap stuff out there, I would save a bit longer, and go for something a little better, maybe apply the same logic on why you bought a Toyota, and paid more for quality, and not another brand, to your accessories as well?

Not knowing a lot about suspension myself, could you please clarify what the actual differences (pros and cons) are between the more popular suspension setups. ie what makes one better than the other? I will be looking at a suspension upgrade within the next 12 months and some knowledge will definately help me decide on where to spend my hard earned

people may bag out cheaper suspension kits but im happy with what it does. it gives a slightly firmer ride, less bodyroll, doesnt bottom out when loaded like standard, get less bumpsteer, more wheel travel and more ground clearance, all fitted for $1100. whats not to like. i based may purchase on price and also every man and his dog has got OME or lovells and bilsteins, i wanted something different and im impressed with ironman, ive even had a few other playdo drivers impressed with the setup, thats my 2 bobs worth. cheers samo

Good on you Samo, I'm very happy with the ride, load carrying capacity & handling I get on the 2 dual cab ute I have fitted with Ironman Suspesion, bang for buck you cant beat it, The 2 utes are set up for serving the mining industry & are off road every day in the Hunter Valley, so far no problems, just happy drivers,I think the Bilsteins are over rated, as you can see I have them on my Prado, their ok but not brillant & I'm concerend about their reliability on off road tracks like the canning after seeing a video of a cannining trip & seeining the bilsteins blowing out the seals & having to be replaced, also on one of the 4wd suspesion sites they donot recomend the bilsteins for heavy duty off road use for the Prado?? any one had any issues with the Billys?

Great price for OME but if you hunt around you can get a better deal with the ironman, without paying extra for an over inflated name, most likely they come from the same factory, could be the same shocks & springs, just a different colour, who knows there so much BS being put about by the sellers of these products & the sales reps dont seem to have any idea about their products except thiers are the best & everyone elses product is inferior & fails all the time or will not perform, or are overpriced under speced blah blab blah???
