These values of rebound over compression are interesting, and considering the recent post with sheared rear coils and the statement that the "coils were not matched to the shocks", I'd like to hear what the appropriate valving is for the Prado and what spring rates should match it.
I'm particularly interested to know how these numbers are determined.
It seems like struts/shocks (712/713 etc.) are being valved to suit Australian road conditions, and that coil rates are determined more in relation to vehicle mass.
In my own practical experience driving with 712/713/Ridepro, I find that even the stiffly valved 712/713's cannot easily cycle out pitch in a heavily loaded vehicle due to mismatch between front and rear suspension frequency.
This to me throws the whole argument of "matching springs to shocks" out the window.
What then does it mean to match a shock to a spring, and how is it mathematically determined?
