I bought a prado D4D approx 6 months ago, lately it started to develop an annoying squeak which seems to come from under the body ( close to back driver wheel) almost everytime the road is bumpy, back to the dealer who said firstly can't hear anything, and then adjusted the back door with silicone etc...but nothing... that squeak, rattle, is back again to haunt me...can't enjoy the car no more, if anyone had this sort of experience before, I would appreciate some opinions when I go to the dealer next time...Many Thanks

Sorry ... nothing definate to pin it on for you .... just a couple of suggestions to help track it down.
I hate squeeks and rattles .... and I suppose I'm a bit anal in tracking them down ops:
When does it occur ... all the time ? accellerating or decellerating ? cornering ?
Have a walk around the car ..... open, jiggle and shut the doors, place your hands on the plastic body panels and give them a jiggle, try also jiggling the bonnet and headlight protectors (if you have them) .... noises can travel
Jack up a corner, whip a wheel off and jiggle everything around. Even better ... pop the back of the car up on stands and take both back wheels off ... try moving things around a bit and see if you can create any of the squeek. Chuck your wheels under the chassis ... just in case you're built like Arnie and tip the car off its stands.
Give all the bits a bit of a squirt with some CRC or WD-40 ... who knows .. it might just be something thats a bit dry and rubs and squeeks when you drive.
I've had stray little sticks and stones sitting inside wheels rims and between the brake disk and backing plate. I've even had one stone inside one of the Toyo plastic wheel caps ... now that was an annoying one to track down until I took the wheel off.
Have you had a look inside the back ... are the tools secure in their holder? ... is the jack wound up and held firmly in its holder ? Are the middle row of seats locked onto their securing pins ... I've had one that I thought was locked in but it was just sitting on top and creating a really annoying rattle. Is a seat belt buckle trapped between the side of the seat and the door trim ?
Its not an exhaustive list but I hope its given you a bit of a start ... good luck.
Cheers

Thank you Chippy to take the time for answering me and advising, yes we have tried all the obvious, we think it's coming from under the car not from inside the cabin, I am back to the dealer on Monday who so far has benn very helpful, unfortunatly we haven;t benn able to track it down....
I really appreciate your help...That stupid squeak stops me from enjoying my new pride and joy....

I have a squeak too from the rear drivers side. I think it is coming from the suspension at this stage. I will be getting the dealer to look at this at the 10k servixe as well as the drivers seat squeak too.Regards,

Guys,
I too had this squeaking noise coming from the rear door/spare tyre area. After going and yelling at the guy from Toyota, the solution was found that as the body of the car moves slightly in respect to the rear door, the litte rubber grommets on the left side of the door frame were rubbing against the car body.
After several trips to Toyota, a small amount of dry lube on the grommets and the noise was gone. I have had to apply some more after driving through some dusty areas but apart from that, all fixed!!!!
Hope this helps.White '07 D4D GXL Manual, ARB Winch Bar, IPF 900XS Spotlights, BFGoodrich All Terrains LT 265 70 R17, GME TX3440 UHF, Safari Snorkel, ARB underbonnet compressor, IPF Fatboy Headlight Upgrade, Hilux Washer Jet Upgrade, Waeco 80L Fridge.

Could possibly be, although after several test with people sitting in the back, they almost all agreed that it's coming from " under the car " around the back driver arch wheel area....
Someone will have to drive while I sit in the back...Thank you anyway....
