    anyone installed the new tought dog 40mm struts or know anything about them yet??????

    Yes, there is a thrad shown above on the tough dogs. I have them in my work vehicle and wont ever use them again :x
    Unless I get a rubber spine..

      I've done 50000k on my Tough Dog adjustables. In terms of ride, they've performed OK. Being adjustable you can adjust them to a setting that suits. The adjusters are vulnerable and quite expensive to replace.

      I am about to take delivery of my new D4D. Will I put Tough Dogs on it? No Way! Three main reasons:

      1. Intitially at around 45000k I had a seriously loud intermittent screaching from the front right corner. There were some earlier squeaks but not great problems, just nuisance value. I tried all sorts of remedies with limited success, but finally took it to Opposite Lock in Preston. They seemed helpful and said they would order a replacement strut. Three months later and many calls later (none from them) where Tough Dog were always blamed for not sending the part, still no solution from them. Finally in desperation, I greased the bottom strut mount and the problem is now gone. I'm sure this will reduce the life of the joint as it will attract dust and grit, but it worked! The other strut has just started doing the same thing. Not a good record. It leads me to think there may be a design problem.

      2. Shocking (pardon the pun) support from Opposite Lock in Preston (or Tough Dog perhaps?) as outlined above. There aren't too many people supplying Tough Dog that I know of. I don't have too many alternatives. You won't be using the same supplier, but if the stories are true and Tough Dog wouldn't send my parts, you may be in trouble too.

      3. Most people who have tried Bilstiens rave about them. You have to take notce of that!

        Without the benefit of the forum you could experiment forever and ultimately learn the hard way...

        The general consensus of the forum's collective wisdom seems to be the Bilstein/Ridepro combination.

        I've got mine ordered, but have yet been able to find the time to get myself down to Geelong for the fitting... :cry:

          Only ever had them in a Feroza (12inches higher than standard) and a 60 Series and I loved them... Both cars were pretty hard core and for Gymkhana Comps... Firm ride? YES. Plenty of articulation? OH YEAH!

          The new adjustables are supposed to be awesome and MUMSRIG would have had them if the budget allowed....
