Ok,
So I have been looking on this forum for a while and have found a lot of great info on some of the issues I'm having. Hoping someone might have an answer for me on this one that I haven't been able to find.
My ABS VSC TRC lights were coming on intermittently and I was having to use the the shift lock button to get out of park every now and then. I have discovered that the stop light switch is dodgy and I have a new one on the way. Problem 1 solved...I hope. Will update the result when I replace it.
My other issue is with the self levelling. I noticed the ride was occasionally a bit bouncy and that sometimes overnight the right hand rear would sag noticeably. I suspected a leak in the airbag. However after playing around with it for a bit I'm not so sure.
Turn car on, compressor starts and suspension lifts to NEUTRAL and stops. Set height control to HIGH, compressor runs and stops at the top limit. Thats all good. Set height control to lower, air bleeds out and suspension lowers to probably close to its lower limit, but then the compressor starts and pumps it back up to about neutral, then bleeds out again. This just goes on continuously and the rear never stays lowered, just cycles up and down. I was testing this on level ground. Another thing I noticed was that if I turned off the car when the compressor was stopped at either
neutral or high position, the rear would not sag overnight and would hold. If I stop the car while it is still levelling, I can hear air bleeding from the right rear but not the left. Most probably the reason it sags overnight.
Im no expert on how this system works but it sounds like an issue with a solenoid valve or a level sensor. Could this be the reason for the bouncy ride, if the compressor is cycling on and off all the time while driving due to a solenoid leak or level sensor? Or could it be an issue with the brake light switch disabling the VSC?
Am going to test the airbags for leaks this weekend but I think they're fine. I am also going to measure the distances of the lift at the neutral and high positions to make sure they are even on each side.
Would like to hear others opinions or if anyone has had a similar auto levelling issue.
Cheers
