  • 120 Steering Rack - Rebuild vs Replacement?

    G'day

It looks like my steering rack has gone and needs replacing. Any thoughts on getting it rebuilt (if possible) vs replacement?

Besides the costs differential is there anything else I should consider between the two? Longevity, strength etc. or is a good rebuild as good as a new one? I won't be doing the work, it will be a specialist.

    Any input appreciated

The question was answered for me today. Too damaged to rebuild. Too much water damage.

$1250 for new / $600-700 rebuild. No doubt I could have got it cheaper if I had shopped around but I needed the car back ASAP.
