Thanks AJ120, I met amts today and he did mention that someone had your set of coil compressors.

I could do the same and make a set to last me a life time. Might be a good mid week project.

If not I will give amts another buzz

    Cheers

I definitely wouldn't have been able to get the front strut together without coils. If you are confident doing it yourself Bomber, then organise a bit of a tech day and I'm sure a few of us that have done this would give you a hand.

Haha. Damn work brain. I meant without spring compressors. Coils were definitely too long.

            Thanks Guys,

I have the gear to do it without too much fuss. Just need the spring compressors (have PM you iantz). I'm not a fast worker but I do have a mechanical mind. I intend taking a Thursday and Friday off to do the job just in case I need to do a dash to a suspension specialist.

15 km out of town and you think it is out woop woop. .........wow.........you guys

Really? That far? I would have to bring the camper so I didn't have to drive there and back in one day

Started on the fit up tonight, have completed the front passenger side, took about 2.5hrs with some head scratching and bloody hell those HD ridepro springs take some effort to compress. Should only take about 1.5 hrs for the driver side now I have an idea on how best to do it. All the pointers on here have been invaluable.

Only other point I would make is the steering linkage, undo castle nut and then spray a little WD 40 on it let it sit for 5 and then sharp blow to cast and off it came, took a whole 5 minutes. I know some people are having trouble with this.

Forgot to take some before measurements but from memory it was about 735mm on the front, will post the after measurements when finished.

Bomber, when you post your new measurements, would you include the circlip position you set the spring seat on the Bilsteins to and if you fitted the Ridepro ZC7300 or ZC7302 springs please?

I have never found the need to remove this at all!

Finished the suspension fit. Very happy with the quality of ride and the height gained. I will post the measurements in the suspension measurement thread. A big thanks to the people that have shared their thoughts and another to AJ120, IANTZ and AMTS for the spring compressors. All up the job took me about 8 hours for springs, shocks and polyairs.

                        cheers

Then one guy in each wheel arch ... top bolt off .... bottom bolt off ... shockie out .... little bit of weight on the diff ... spring out.

Little bit of weight on the diff .... spring in.

I am unsure how to get the rear springs out. Can't quite understand "a little bit of weight on the diff" as there is a dirty big hydraulic jack under it and it ain't going anywhere.

Can someone please clarify and also do the brake lines need to be removed?
                          Thanks

You need to put chassis stands under the chassis and remove the jack from under the diff to let it drop, undo the sway bar connectors and then its easy. No need to do anything with the brake lines unless you are going a lift over 2 inches.

                            Cheers Andrew

Thanks Andrew. Did the job this afternoon. I put the chassis stand in front of the lower control arm and I did have some concerns about the amount of weight cantilevered behind it. But nothing seemed to break so all is well.

I'm fitting Lovells and bilsteins to my 120. Got the factory struts out ok, but they took some encouragement as there was still some pressure on them even with the front at full droop. I'm assuming I'm gonna have a similar problem putting the new struts in. Anyone have a similar issue where the strut needs to be compressed to get it in between the top and bottom mount? Or am I missing something?

                                Thanks for any help
