  • Suspension Problem!

    Hi all,
I have a small problem! I had my suspension done yesterday at ARB Ozzy Park and all went well until I got home! I noticed on the Dash the Airbag Warning light was on. Has anyone else experienced this problem before? I’ll be taking it back to ARB this morning but I don’t like my chances of them being able to do anything on a Saturday morning! The thing is I’m going bush down south this afternoon for the weekend..............
    Cheers,

    Matt (WA)

    Hey Matt,

Have you had a bit of a poke around the plugs up the front of the car? I can't imagine why they would have touched them though.

Have a go at disconnecting your battery, checking all your plugs and then reconnect the battery after say 20mins...

If you can't find a solution I'd say you're going to have to take it to Toyota, they should be able to plug in and find where the fault is.

    Cheers,

Bet they have knocked or disconnected an ABS sensor on one of the front wheels, they are a bit flimsy

As XV said. It was covered a while ago on this forum from memory, same supplier but I think they were fitting diff locks and broke the ABS sensor.

                Hi all,
Went to ARB this morning and they were about as much use as a Kick in the Nuts! The Excuses I got were “Mate it happens to my Commodore all the Time!!” and “It wasn’t like that when it left here”...if I wasn’t already p1ssed off enough that just pushed me over the edge   basically said that I need to take it back Toyota for them to stick it on the Computer to “Diagnose it” and yes at my cost too!
Thanks for the replys I'll get them to check the ABS Sensors when its in.

It’s due for a Service anyway so I’ll get them to take a look at it when it goes in for the service!!!!! In my eyes ARB have done their dash with me it’s off to find another place to get stuff done to the Prado......
                Cheers,

                Matt (WA)

Its all about customer service if they don't offer any they don't get my business.

I generally get a lot of my stuff from Opposite lock in Karratha, I have found their customer service brilliant nothing is ever to much trouble. (Had a shovel holder stuff up they retail in pairs, they just took one out of another box, problem fixed straight away no issues)

I have been to other 4X4 stores Darwin /Perth and found the service standards lacking. Some staff can't even be bothered to offer assistance.
It just annoys me

                  (steps down from soapbox)

Sorry to hear your woes Matt. We did a lift on Fishnuts last night with no problem. I'm the first to admit that I sometimes have problems with cars after working on them, related or otherwise, but it is my job and everyone elses to take the concern on-board and follow it through and if it is coincidence you kindly explain why and if it's your fault you apologise profusely and kiss some ass. Anything mechanical can be a pain in the a** but never just say go away. Not so much commenting on the fault at hand, more just commenting on the lack of support for someone that just spent something in the area of $1500.

Unfortunately, you will find that the parts fitters in 4WD shops are generally not qualified mechanics and the tradesmanship is compromised.
People like you MattWhite are profesional and caring with customers which can be sadly overlooked with major companies.
Sounds like that is where you are Matt (WA)

Yeah I agree whole hartidly with all your Comments,
They Just dont give a toss after they have got your $$$, As I told this "Guy" i had an NM Pajero Fitted out with just about half their store no issues at all he replied with "Well I've only been here 7 months" Realy doesn't instill a great deal of Confidence in me. One last thing not knocking Young Blokes I'm only young my self, but he looked all of about 20 years old and his attitude sucked....

I'll get off my soap box now! thanks for the Venting Session everyone.

                        Matt

                          Matt

I'd send them the bill if it turns out that they were at fault. If they dont pay, then lodge a claim through your local consumer affairs office.

I would also be writing to ARB's head office. A company like ARB would be concerned to have their reputation trashed by some couldn't-care-less idiot.

Good luck - hope it all turns out OK.

These sort of people make my blood boil... happy to take your money, and then you're on your own...

Please let us know what happens in the coming days Matt. Curious to know if the air-bag system is related to the ABS. For future reference more than anything.
