Can somebody explain to me how these part numbers work. It's doing my head in. This from Amayama
Hi Timmy,
I used your vehicle's chassis number JTEBU25J600024485 to determine the part numbers, then
entered them into our system.
Your vehicle has TEMS is that correct? If so the part numbers for the
front shock absorbers are as follows:
48510-69415 RH and LH
The non-TEMS is 48510-69176
So we have ONE part number (48510-69415) for ALL four shocks here LH & RH that I can enter on both websites and come up with this
PartSouq,
4851060121 ABSORBER ASSY $187.30
Looks good eh? Should I order 4 of these? Nothing about left or right side. Nothing with different prices for front and rear like Comps posted? Also interesting how I enter part 48510-69415 and get 4851060121
Amayama;
Toyota 4851069415 SHOCK ABSORBER 176.63 UAE
Toyota 4851069415 SHOCK ABSORBER 669.87 Japan
Awesome only $176 each from UAE. Should I order 4 of these? Again, nothing about left or right side. Nothing with different prices for front and rear like Comps? Seems like they are identical? One part number fits all!
Yet Comps has two different part numbers 48530RH & 48540LH Both come up with zero results on both sites. Both numbers are different to the ones given me.
PartSouq; Search result for: 48530 No results matched your search terms.
Both Comps numbers match the diagram links, but you get nothing when you try a search with 5 numbers
If I use Comps part numbers and add the last 5 digits (69415) from my quoted numbers I get another set of absorber parts that are obviously not what I want but shows the sites search engine only accepts part numbers with 10 digits. It also shows an ABSORBER ASSY for $29.79, 'hmm, thats cheap'
Amayama; 4853069415 $28.33
PartSouq; 4853069415 ABSORBER ASSY, $29.79
What am I missing? Are we talking about different models, different TEMS shocks? LH RH Front and Rear? I must be retarded. I just want to make sure I order the correct parts. I can't make heads or tails of it all.2003 Prado Grande, Petrol, Auto.

Quick question amts. Do you know why the last 5 digits are different on the rear shocks from the two sources you provided?
Amayama also have different last 5 digits on both. 48530 69485 Rear 48510 69415 Front.
Pete6's second hand ones from Graigm's referral have Rear: 48530-60070 Front: 48510-60121. Same as ToyoDIY
However All 4 sources agree on the first 5 digits 48530 Rear, 48510 Front.2003 Prado Grande, Petrol, Auto.

Hi hoody, I am thinking of changing the rear shocks for my Grande '06. My mechanic has checked them and said one is leaking a bit of oil, so will need replacing soon. As I am driving down the road (flat bitumen) it feels like its on a corrugated road ( I suppose due to the shocks being stuffed).
How did you get on with your purchase of the Amayama shocks?
How much did they end up costing you when you placed your order?
Did you just use the above numbers?
Did you need to order anything else?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Hi Geoff.
Last year I replaced my front springs with dobisons C59-296, both front TEMS shocks, rear airbags my rear TEMS shocks where just replaced by previous owner. I got my springs locally and shocks and airbags through Partsouq, the car drives great I was toying with the idea of replacing with normal shocks etc but after reading up about the TEMS system am very glad I kept it. There are great instructions on this site and it took me 3/4 day to complete as the airbag lines require a small hand to refit and I have big old mitts and this took most of my time. Total cost for me was about $1400 au but if I did it agian I would get the airline detach tool as for me the few dollars to buy one would be offset by the cursing and swearing of using alternatives. I have about 770mm on front from 730 and 800 on rear from 780 (adjusted with spacers on level sensor.)
