I cant go any higher (Prado only just fits in the garage now), but am craving more articulation and a longer shock may assist...
Thats interesting that you have the part no's everywhere I check they just say B6's are there more than one model that can fit the 120? Im unsure if the 5100 will work in the rear but It looks like the 5160 is a lot more money.

What I can say is that the ones I imported from the states are simply superb on mine. Keep in mind though that coming from an off road racing background there is nothing on my 120 that doesn't need to be there so its probably one of the lightest getting around. Add bar work/rear shelves/rear carrier and they may well struggle.

I thought there were a couple of others who have imported them and would be interested in their observations.

        cheers
Re-Valving them here would end up way dearer than buying the Bilsteins from here.
These 5100's are very undervalved for Aus.
All of the Aus Bilsteins are indeed Specc'd for Aus use.

        See thread here.

B6 is the basic model of shock that they base off.
They have B4 B6 & B8 as a couple of model variants for different uses.

I think I'll go for 5100's all round, for the money I can upgrade them later, they are a consumable anyway right.
If I get 2-3 years out of them I'm fine with that. It will also enable be to get the springs on now and have some options down the track. one other question though, if you went for a 3" or greater lift to run 285's would the springs get changed out again or is this just a case of diff drop, UCA's, ext swaybars and maybe some spacers etc?

If you want to go 3" down the track, you may need new springs and shocks all round. You may not need new shocks if you still get sufficient droop with the additional inch.

May not need new front coils depending on how many circlip grooves are left on the Bilsteins.

Rear coils will need a spacer.

thanks for the info.. Also.. interesting bit of info from Sonny, apparently he has been chatting to Bilstein and the rear 5160 series shock for the FJ is being re-vamped.. There will be a new part # released shortly.
I might be the test dummy for these once I get some more info on what the changes will be.

                    Didn't watch the video.
They are the same. Prado is a bit easier usually.
