Might be awhile getting this suspension sorted, heading to Traralgon Friday nite, driver in front of us decides to pull up in the middle of the highway presumably to
Make a right hand turn (no blinker), we had nowhere to go around and rear ended them at about 60 km an hour.

Cops tell us she is definitely at fault.

Prado was a back of a truck tow job, bull bar pushed back into tyre.

Gonna get insurance to cover a Arb deluxe winch bullbar colour coded white so that's a positive(had a factory alloy sovereign bar).

A really cheap fix for a standard shock set up is to replace the shocks with standard shocks off a 150 Prado, because the 150 is heavier than the 120, the 150 shocks are stiffer and suit the 120 spring rate better than the originals.

I picked up 4 shocks off EBay for $40 which had done less than 1000kms.

A minor modification with a file or grinder to the bottom mount on the front shock is all that is required to fit them.

Makes a huge difference and costs next to nothing.

Got the Prado back at last, nice shiny ARB deluxe colour coded winch bar up front, looks the goods.

Need to get this suspension sorted , it feels crap on the road.

Got round to measuring the front as suggested, came up with 730mm, so factoring in the steel bar now, and a dual battery setup where do I stand?

Tossing up between just buying shocks (if my springs are not shagged) , going the whole meal deal at ARB with old man emu shocks and springs with lift ($2000) or buying a set of 300km take off springs and shocks OEM for $300 plus freight.

The latter seems the most cost effective for what we do but considering the options we have (steel bar, dual battery and engel fridge out back) I am wondering
If heavier springs would be the go as we tow a horse float from time to time.

        Any opinions are welcome.

Front should be 750 stock so about 790 - 800 with a lift and rears about 30 higher so you need the lot.

If you go replacement OEM, have you considered rear coil air bags for the odd occasion you tow? I have them and they're great for the times we really load up. Previous owner had them fitted for towing a camper trailer.

And it just so happens they'll be up for sale in a couple of weeks when I get my 2" lift done as they'll no longer fit...
