  • ABS, VSC, TRC Problems with grande after 2" lift

I'm in need of help from the Prado point brain trust
I just installed a set of bilstien shocks with a 2" lift on the Grande and now I have the ABS, VSC and TRC lights are now on. Dose anyone know what could cause this?

Did you DIY the install? Sounds like there's an issue with the brake lines at the front. Might have been damaged during the install.

Check the connections for the ABS sensors, could be unplugged, not connected properly or damaged.

I would guess from experience of fixing these things after lift kit installs (ive had quite a few over the years) that the cable has been stretched on one corner and you will find an open circuit in the cable.

All of these active safety features listed rely on the wheel speeds of all four wheels plus other inputs but the wheel speed signals are the common denominator and the only thing that is anywhere near where you/others were working. Its hard to damage the sensor itself as the sensor is fairly protected but the cable is a seperate component on the 120 and plugs into the sensor at the hubs and then runs up into the engine bay it is very easily damaged by stretching or pinching.

If you have a multimeter start by checking the resistance in the cables. There should be resistance if there isnt in one cable theres your culprit. If nothing is found then then check the wheel speed sensors by checking the resistance, while the multimeter is connected to the sensor turn the hub/wheel and see if the resistance changes and fluctuates if it doesnt there's your culprit.

If this all sounds like dutch go see your local mechanic its pretty basic stuff for any decent mechanic

If you can access a scan tool you could narrow it down much quicker.
