OME rear shocks

Just wanted to replace tired rear shocks on standard 120 GXL.
Told by ARB that have to buy 2" lift kit for this. Is this correct and is there another option to Toyota standard shocks or are they ok anyway?
Have done 100,000 km on standard shocks.

Hi, all replacement aftermarket shocks available will suit from standard height up to 2" lift including OME. Only ever heard of specific needs over 2" mark, never heard of ever needing to install a lift kit in order to use aftermarket shocks.

I have a mate who is a mechanic . He replaced the original shocks on his 100 series and the shocks on his misus pathfinder with OME and was seriously pissed off with both . Both had serious failures.

I or someone closer to you may have a free or cheap set for you.
But do the lot as at 100k they are due for replacement. Worn!

Just did mine on the weekend. Went to ARB and was underwhelmed so went to Fulcrum and the kit was better quality and priced and came preassembled. Did it myself.
