  • Suspension upgrade Canberra/Queanbeyan

    Hi

Been a while since I posted here but I looking for a suspension place in Canberra/qbn I been to
2 offroad places already I after King Spring/Bilstien shocks upgrade for my 120 gxl the off road
shops only do OME or Dobinson and were not much change out of 2 grand so any pointers
to somewhere that does King/Bilstien around the the area and that are no top of the mark
    with price

PS after reading the forums here Kings and bilstien seem popular choice with pardo owners
so you guys have to right if I read it on here lol

I had the same issue, ended up going with the big bird set up because I couldn't find someone willing to buy and fit kings/ Bilstein setup for a decent price. Not to mention I got a great price from one of the 4wd shows on OME set up when I bought some other toys.

If you can wait until the Canberra 4x4 show on the last weekend of January I am sure you can get an excellent deal.

Alternatively you could Kings/Bilstein over the net and get either Hume or Monaro offroad to fit them for you. Or just drive to Sydney for the day.

Dobinson's Sydney are at Smeaton Grange - near Campbelltown - so almost Canberra :-)

Springs + MRR shocks + fitting was $1950.

I think springs + twin tube shocks + fitting would be about $1325 (but you'd have to check with them).

Either way you'll need a wheel alignment as well after it's done.

Might have to look at OME not going to Sydney thats for sure but just doesn't seem to be many options locally.

the Canberra 4x4 show is that the one at the Queanbeyan showground or out at exhibition park?

No DIY option here no way I would take on a job like that with my skills and lack of tools lol

But have to do something been told by 2 mechanics the shocks are stuffed there a rattle noise that I think is maybe the top of the strut and
front end sagging with ARB bulbar and 220k on the original suspension.

          Thanks for the suggestions

Try the guys at capital steering and suspension, good workmanship but haggle on the price, he makes it up as he goes. I would probably buy what you need from one of the suppliers on here and take it to somebody. A good shop shouldn't take more than 2.5 hours labour to do the job.
