Help Please
I am making two rear extended adjustable rear sway bar links to suit my 2007 Prado 120 D4D diesel auto from a pair of aftermarket unused links I have on hand. These links already have a small extension so I can't use them as a starting point for my measurements.
My goal is a max 30mm extra length over standard length pins.
Phoned my local Toyota dealer but no links in stock to measure. Phoned Toyota customer service and they do not know. My current Toyota links have already been extended. I don't have a std Toyota factory link to measure so I don't know how much longer I need to extend these aftermarket links to achieve a 30mm max extension. I know some one will ask why I am fitting 30mm extended links.
Rebuilding my suspension, out goes the Bilstein BBE5-A713 and in goes the Bilstein B46-1478LT long travel.
Can someone please advise:-
Firstly the length of a std Toyota link pin?
Secondly how the measurement provided was obtained?
I purchased the extended sway bar link I mention above on 27/3/2013 from Wholesale suspension trading as Blacktown City Suspension. The Part number and description on their invoice is LP95120R Rear Extended Link Pin. They say its length is 180 mm measured from the center of the lower ball joint to the middle of the two upper bushes. I assume this is when fitted.
Is this an accurate way to measure the working length of these link pins?
