  • Bilsteins or bust

My brand new t/d 120 GXL has just arrived at the dealers after a bit of a wait. Now the fun begins by putting all the goodies on. My 10 yr old 90 series has had 2 sets of Toyota standard shocks (Tanami killed the first set), 2 sets of Toughdog adjustables all round (Cape York killed those), and have finally killed the Toughdog h/duties on the rear after 2 years. Poly air-bags wore out too. OME 50mm raised coils replaced Toughdogs h/d standard height coils 2 years ago. I've got 178,000km on the clock. Much of my driving is on poor dirt roads throughout the WA Goldfields and Kimberley.

I'm going to lift the new rig 50mm and I'm considering Bilsteins because so many owners recommend them but why do they only have a 12 month warranty if they are so good? Other major brands offer 2 - 3 years.

Have a look in the Vendors section or PM Darren... he offers two years on his Bilstein based suspension packages...

Ditto with the "no problems with the billies" Coming up to 60,000 for me.

I used lovells springs, first set were normal 50mm raise, now have heavy duty 50mm in the front. They both sagged. rears are good tho??.

Aparently Kings make good front springs. they will be my next springs.

Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.

        Re: Bilsteins or bust

Warranty is pretty much irrelevant on something that it has yet to be required for.

We dont like to draw a line in the sand, to be honest, as we would prefer the customer come back to us with any issue they may have, so we can assess, and chnage anything, if required, as we go.
