    rack and pinion

    well looks like i have sheared off some teeth on the rack and pinion and it sounds nasty....i wont be on the road till fixed...

    so has any had this prob or had to replace....if so what sort of coin am i looking at due to my warranty is a thing of the past...???? :evil:

      man i hate to think what a new one costs.....

            bad luck on the rack joey, same thing happens with me with commodores, ive had 3 coms now and had to put in 3 racks now, you would think i would have learned by now, the 1 that stung the most waa the vt rack, in the calais they have a variable rack which means when going slow they over assist which is good for parking and when you hit road speeds they get heavier for some road feel, but when mine went bung it went opposite, go slow it got heavy and go fast got really light, it was almost dangerous, slight twitch of the wheel it jumped lanes, its cost me $700 to fix it but ya have to have steering lol. cheers samo
            had an 03 gx 120 with some gear now got a 2013 bt 50 GT auto some ARB gear.
