Ironman Suspension

Hi All

Really excited as getting the prado lifted. I know there is a million topics on lifts etc but interested in those that have iron man. specifically the different comboes ie performance springs/comfort etc.

I have a mate on the forum, BA77hy, that loves his setup. He has the heavier springs (to suit dieselin the front with a spacer (not sure if this is an actual spacer or a shock or something that is adjustable) and the comfort in the back with poly airs.

I drive it on the weekend and couldn't belive how superior the ride was to my standard.

Any thoughts appreciated.

thanks Mate.

Pretty sure will go the diesel springs in the front and comfort in the rear due to the poly airs. now the decision to go foam cell in the rear or gas. will prob go the gas

Hey wilko i have run the iron man suspension for about a year now diesel springs in the front and comfort in the rear with just the nitro shocks all round i am impressed with the performance my old suspension must have been shagged as it origionally came up about 3 inches but has now settled to around 2. One thing i did notice was that when i fitted the ARB bar (no winch) this actually settled the front down a bit and i think it handles better, i did have to get another wheel alingment done at about 2000k after installation but i do alot of hwy driving so i am real fussy with that.

As for off road performance i used to be skeptical on lifts but man it is out of sight things i used to bump and scrape over it now just walks over even my wife recons it drives so much better in the bush and she is now more keen to drive it on the trails i could not get over the difference

My only possible change is i am getting a pop top camper soon so i may swap the comfort springs in the rear for a constant load.

Only negative i can find is that unlike old man emu the shocks dont have the guards on them and mine are now peppered after doing the oodnadatta track after the 09 GTG but from the look i have had underneath this appears to be more cosmetic than anything.

Pm me if you want some more details $1200 all up installed by my local mechanic the only hard bit if you are doing it yourself is compressing the front springs to get them in

Well the lift was fitted yesterday and very happy. Had the wheel alignment done today and all good. The ride is great. Just trying to work out the best pressure for the poly airs in the rear now.
