Re: Bilstein vs Tough Dog vs Dobinson

Another 2 cents. After my first Prado had OME 2" spring and shock the fronts died at 30000. Replaced with Bilstien.
My new 120 VX has Kings standard raised front and rear with Bilstien both ends. Much better set up for me, even when fully loaded with Trailblaser, extra water and towing the camper to Cape York. Better around town as well. Set the front spring height adjuster to lowest setting so lift was approx 45mm (ARB bar and 9000 winch). First car i had was too high and limited down travel.

In short, buy the best you can afford and be happy.

For an Update, the Tough Dog adjustables tend to lose their adjuster knobs lol. 2 of mine are somewhere in the bush I'm guessing. Right now I regret buying my TD, only because the Aussie dollar is so strong and I could have had an awesome setup from the states for only a little more than the TD! Also after 20,000km of driving (mostly offroad too!) they still haven't started weeping or leaking yet! See how they go with extended control arms I guess.
