  • Front coils with OE shocks?

    Hello everyone.
I'm from Norway and have a 2008 Lc Prado Grande.
We have wery restricted rules in Norway to change the suspension witout an road goverment approval.
I wonder if anyone can tell me if imes possible to use dobinsons c59-300, OME 884 or simmilar coils with the OE TEMS shocks?
I want a less soft coils in the front and replace the airbags with airbag man OA6011S.

Toyota and some dealers says I can't take away the TEMS shocks because I will get error codes.

Do you have any good options?
I'm a mechanic so I will do all the work by my self. I just think it's so many options to choose....

Yes you can change coils and retain the TEMS shocks.

You will not get error codes if you remove the TEMS shocks.

If you want a softer ride, set the shocks to COMFORT mode.

will OME 884 fit my OE shocks?

Because they are making things up.

Yes, but what are you trying to achieve? The spring rate is almost the same as OEM, but the free length is longer and so will give you a lift if your front end weight stays the same.

Because they are correct. Tems shock removal WILL throw error codes. However, they neglect to tell you, the codes show no dash lights and remain hidden from the drivers view unless they plug on a scan tool. They do not affect vehicle operation. So remove them, and the vehicle will still work fine, just with some invisible error codes thrown.

You’ll only need to rid the dash cluster of a fault when swapping the rear airbags for coil springs. There’s a well written procedure with photos for that which I followed & got it sorted fairly quickly.
