Hey guys
Been searching through the forums and found tons of useful information to say the least, I have been looking at upgrading the suspension with a 2" lift all round, I have searched through a lot of the suspension threads and there is definitely I'm guessing what used to be a lot of useful write ups with heaps of photos, unfortunately they have all been removed due to being old links, I was looking at getting a pre assembled kit so I'm not having to worry about compressing springs
My main concern really would be with the fronts as the back looks fairly self explanatory and relatively simple, using a pre assembled kit, would it be as simple as the following?
1. Jacking up the car and placing on stands removing the front wheels
2. Dropping the bash plate and undoing the bolts holding the sway bar in place
3. Removing bolt from both sides holding the sway bar in place to upper control arm
4. Undo the top three bolts for the strut
5. Removing split pin from tie rod end and undo the nut smacking the side of where the tie rod end is seated to get the joint to dislodge
6. Undo bolt connecting lower strut to lower control arm and whack bolt out using a long screw driver
7. Pull down on main hub assembly enough to free strut from lower control arm and remove
I have been searching for ages and found a pretty decent video as well how to do it, but I really just wanted to get some feedback from the pros to be honest
Any insights would be great, I also found a table with the torque specs for all the bolts if you are replacing the springs and struts in the car, I was also just looking for some confirmation on the specs of these as well
Tie rod end lock nut: 88 Nm
Shock absorber (upper) x Body: 64 Nm
Shock absorber x Lower arm: 135 Nm
Not sure what the nut is called that holds the sway bar into the upper control arm?
Cheers
