  • Grande airbag suspension compressor not working

Yup, it's yet another airbag suspension thread!

What do I need to do / test / check before I conclude that my compressor is faulty?

I've just replaced the shocks (OEM TEMS) and airbags, and the compressor won't start up. The 'height control' light on the dash is on, with a light on the 'N' of 'H/N/L', but pressing the high and low buttons don't do anything.

From what I've read here, the compressor may need time to reset, but it has been at least a few days since it last ran. I've pulled out two fuses, the airbag suspension fuse under the bonnet and the TEMS fuse near the driver's knee and put them back, and it's the same - no compressor action.

Do I need to leave the fuses out for some time? Does it matter if I'm pulling fuses while the car is running or off? Do I need to try running 12v directly to the compressor? Do I need to scan for and clear falut codes?

    TIA!

Need to plug in a Code reader that CAN see suspension codes, a lot can't..... Jack rear of vehicle up (By the body) so diff has weight taken off it. Apply a little bit of air to the bags with a compressor (5- Psi) Reconnect the lines. Clear the codes (With a suspension code reading code reader). lower the body down And then start the vehicle. The bags should start to inflate,. The issue is if it doesnt inflate within 2 mins, the compressor shuts down for 10 mins, and next time for 75 mins. this catches a lot of people out. Ive used this method multiple times with success on systems that event Toyota said "The compressor is stuffed"

          Thanks Piggy!

I'll have to work out how to connect a compressor or pump to the air lines, and how to find a suspension code reading code reader... :-/

I think this problem is too hard for me, so I'm ready to get someone who knows what they are doing to fix it. Is anyone here a mechanic (or not a mechanic, but willing to take on a job) not too far from Castle Hill NSW (I'll have to drive there on the bump stops) that knows this stuff?
